Circus

Excitement grew the circus was coming to Finglas

This was rare enough even during my early twenties

I purchase for my friend and I

On the date of this much anticipated event

We turn up at the venue

A small hall

It was cold

We find seats in the front row

We soon realise it is not a proper circus

This circus consists of a lady with a snake

Wrapped round her

She encourages people to come and try on the snake

And have a photo taken

For which there is a charge

A couple of clowns and a juggling act complete the show

Oh and candyfloss for sale
